Welcome to the Year 1 page!
We would just like to take this chance to welcome you all to Year 1.
We are looking forward to getting to know your children and helping them to settle in during such an exciting time.
Over the next few weeks we will be adding lots of helpful information to this area of our site and we will continue to do so throughout the year so please check regularly for any updates. We will also be uploading lots of photographs of your children enjoying life within their new year group so you can share this experience along with them.

Silver Class Assembly: 28th September
European Day of Languages: 26th September *Year 1 are looking at Poland
Gold Class Assembly: 12th October
Orange Class Assembly: 19th October
Wear Read Day: 20th October
This term we will be working hard to get to know you and your children and doing our best to ensure the transition between Reception and Year 1 is an enjoyable time for everyone involved. If you have any questions, concerns or have any helpful information you feel you would like to share with us about your child, then please feel free to speak to your child's teacher. We are always around before or after school so feel free to approach us at any time.

Is an Xbox more fun than toys from long ago?
This is primarily a history topic so we will be finding out about toys from long ago and comparing them with the types of toys that children play with now. For more information about what will be covered in individual subjects, please refer to the Topic Web which is attached at the bottom of this page.

Helping your child at home
Please help your child at home by:
Reading with them as often as possible
Helping your child to complete their Literacy and Maths homework and reminding them to hand it into their set teacher each week.
Making sure your child has everything they need when they come to school (book bag, water bottles, P.E kits & earrings out on PE days).
