Happy New Year to you all! We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and are well rested for the busy, exciting term ahead. Thank you once again for all the lovely gifts!
As usual, we will be adding lots of helpful information to this area of our site and we will continue to do so throughout the year so please check regularly for any updates. We will also be uploading lots of photographs of your children enjoying life in Year 1 so you can share this experience with them.

What happened in London in 1666?
Geography/History - The Great Fire of London ~ timeline of events; locating London on a map; discuss landmarks and learning about Samuel Pepys.
Literacy - Poetry – To write a poem about ‘Our senses’. Read and write diary entries - Samuel Pepys. Drama – Role play the events of the Great Fire of London. Non-fiction texts. Drama for Writing – Tom and the Island of Dinosaurs.
3D Pudding Lane. Creating Tudor style houses using junk modelling.

Helping your child at home
Please help your child at home by:
Reading with them as often as possible
Helping your child to complete their Literacy and Maths homework and reminding them to hand it into their set teacher each week.
Making sure your child has everything they need when they come to school (book bag, water bottles, P.E kits & earrings out on PE days).
